This thread started way back in 2006 has been flagged up via Twitter and I thought it was well worth adding to the IFERI forum because so many of these ideas still abound. We still have Reading Recovery entrenched in some regions and universities in England and the battle for evidence-informed reading instruction is live and kicking in Australia, New Zealand, America and Canada as is evidenced on this site.
