Here is an IFERI forum thread featuring my thoughts on use of nonsense words in general phonics provision as distinct from their use for decoding/phonics assessment purposes:

I've resurrected 'The Naked Emperor' blog which I started years ago but did not keep up with.

This includes guest-posts, posts about my phonics programmes, posts challenging the state of play in England - in other words, a wide variety of themes.

At the time of writing this post, this is my latest theme - a very, very serious one in my opinion - politically and educationally unacceptable:

The Education Endowment Foundation is actively undermining the Government in England and here is an evidence trail to show this

Further, I've started a thread via the IFERI forum 'Around the World: News and Events' featuring this issue:

Here is a video via youtube where I am honoured to be a guest speaker invited to chat with Dr Kathryn Garforth (Canada) on the topic of:

Dyslexia and Phonics Instruction

My sincere thanks to Kathryn, I was very grateful to get the opportunity to talk about this topic.

Here is a link direct to Kathryn's youtube site where she provides a series of talks with others about various important topics:

In the light of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have provided a range of various resources which are well worth investigating:

At the bottom of the page, you will find a pre-recorded free webinar with full course notes that I pack full of information for phonics provision.
