Sue Lloyd's site: 'Teaching Children to Read and Write' free information for parents and teachers

Post by Debbie_Hepplewhite »

Sue Lloyd is co-author of Jolly Phonics (Jolly Learning Ltd) and long-standing committee member of the UK Reading Reform Foundation (http://www.rrf.org.uk ). Sue drew attention to the need for systematic synthetic phonics teaching many years before the government/s in England promoted SSP for beginning reading instruction - now statutory in England's national curriculum for English (2104). I have the utmost admiration for Sue and her amazing international work and dedication. Jolly Phonics can now be found in most countries around the world - often pioneering systematic synthetic phonics for the first time as a set of evidence-informed teaching principles.

Teaching Children to Read and Write

This website is designed to provide teachers, parents and interested adults with an understanding of synthetic phonics, the reasons why some children find learning to read difficult and what can be done about it.
