10 reasons you should read aloud to big kids too

Post by Debbie_Hepplewhite »

This is a really important piece in my opinion. As a very busy teacher-mother, one of the few good 'mother' things I did for my two sons was read aloud most of the Harry Potter series. This was great quality time for otherwise rather neglected kids (to be painfully honest).

Sadly, they were really too old to complete reading the whole series aloud (that would have been a bit weird), but whilst I often admonish myself for what I didn't do with my kids as a mother, I am satisfied that I did my best when it came to the nighttime routine of the ("clean your teeth") and the bedtime story!
