I completely agree. Mistakes are easily noted retrospectively. That's what Natural Experiments are all about. The point of science and research is to learn from the experience; to build on the past and improve in the future. But like kids who don't know they are speaking prose, EdLanders don't realize that they are participants in acquiring "evidence." Rather we seek "reforms" in a quest that is as misguided as that of the early alchemists.

England is to be applauded for leading the way, and Australia for recognizing the merits of the UK initiative. The US at present hasn't the foggiest notion or interest in what is going on, but it's early in the game.
