Sadly, however, perhaps Katharine is over-stating the case when she refers to 'Britain's schools'? Take a look at the challenge presented by IFERI committee member, Anne Glennie, to teacher-training content in Scotland - as yet to no avail:With phonics in all our primaries, the Department for Education’s emphasis on the importance of pupil behaviour, the tightening of the GCSE curriculum, and the innovation coming from many free schools, academies and community schools, Britain has never been closer to having a world-class education system. But there is still much to do. So how do we ensure that all children receive an excellent education?
